In the Kitchen with Kylie: Easy Summer Grill Menu

What some of you may not know about me, is that I love to cook.  I like cooking more than baking because with cooking, you can throw in a little bit of this, remove a little bit of that, test out a splash of whatever the hell - and still end up with a delicious dish. With baking, you have to follow the directions to a tee or your shit could honestly be a devastating waste of time and chocolate. I just say no to baking for the most part. (Although I do make a mean frozen puffed pastry dessert). 

Anyways, back on topic.  I've loved cooking now for about 8 years. Before I turned 21 I tore my ACL, meniscus and my MCL, so I was seriously out of commission.  During that time and a heavy percocet prescription from my doctor, I had little to do but watch TV. I became obsessed with the Food Network. I like to call this a healthy addiction (see what I did there?) 

I actually feel that I've learned a lot of techniques from simply watching that network for so many years, and I've incorporated some of those learnings into how I make food now. 

Below is one of the simplest recipes you can make during this summer heat that will fill you up and not leave you lusting for more like some of the other "summer" aka skimpy meals out there might.

You'll notice that none of my bowls or platters match in this, and that is because I am still not in a place to unpack all of our beautiful wedding gifts for the kitchen. Shame on me. In the meantime, I linked to some beautiful dishes and bowls below that any kitchen lover would want.

It's likely no surprise if you follow my blog that I'm getting married soon. I've been trying to be and eat as healthy as possible, but occassionalllllyyyy I give into sweets - but i've noticed that this is mainly because of time.  I'd eat a lot healthier if I had a little bit more time to actually prepare my own meals and enjoy spending time in the kitchen getting my shit together! 

With V-Day rapidly approaching and the thought of candy in the office (and everywhere around me), I decided to rally up some heart-healthy pink desserts that might give or bring some inspiration to the bakers out there!

I meannnnnn. Look at these damn things!! So delicious! I came across this beautiful dessert from a wonderful site called HealthyHappyLife.com and just fell in love with the color of these. As a soon to be bride, the first thing I thought was, "oh my gosh how cute would these be at a bridal shower?!"  At the link I provided you can find the recipe for yourself! 

Vegan Pink Beet Cakes 

This next recipe comes to you from Del's Cooking Twist,  and only takes about 17 minutes total to prepare!! How cute would this be for a sleepover for some little girls too?!  Or a bridal brunch!
