Fall has always been my favorite season. Living in the Bay Area my entire life, I haven't ever really experience a true "fall," a fall where the leaves change colors, the weather truly shifts, and you feel the holidays approaching as the weather changes. Here in Northern California, we kind of have the same season all year round no matter the month, just occasionally with a bit of rain or some more heat than usual! While we don't necessarily get a new season when fall comes around, the best we can do is try to dress the part!
Recently, when I was shopping for an outfit for a date night with my man, I came across this Free People leather skirt at Macy's for under $80 and decided to try it on. It's not a piece I would usually gravitate towards, but I decided to take a risk on it and try it on. This day, I think I brought about 15 pieces into the dressing room and left with only this, so I was happy I decided to give it a try! My favorite aspect of the skirt, are the snaps up the front. I think last season in particular, button up/button down and snap-front items were really big, and in my opinion, they're still not out!
This skirt can pair with so many items, including a nice chambray top like this one, a nice off the shoulder top, or a white or light pink blouse. I chose to pair my skirt with this amazing flannel from Gap that was under $30! I also really like this plaid scarf, this plaid shirt on sale, and in particular this one that even comes with a bow neck. Plaid is one of those items that you can absolutely spend some money on knowing how many times you're likely to wear it throughout the few months when the weather is super cold (or cold enough!). Lastly, this bag was courtesy of Stella & Dot and I get so many compliments on it, it's literally the perfect bag that can carry my laptop, all of my belongings and has pockets on the inside to hold your lipgloss, your cell phone and more. It's absolutely worth the money and a piece that will transition with you through every season.
