Picnic at the Marina Green

The day after the 4th of July, Safi and I were thinking about what we should do together, since things have been pretty crazy lately and we've rarely had a full two days of alone time on the weekends over the past few weekends. How do we spend our time together and make it meaningful?

Safi had the great idea of heading to the Fort Mason farmer's market in the morning this beautiful Sunday, and get our favorite pastry (the rum almond croissant)! We hadn't been to the farmer's market in quite a long time, and it is typically one of our most favorite weekend activities to do together.

I love driving over by the marina, scouring the local produce, beautiful blooms, and tasting the most amazing tomatoes you can possibly taste (tastes like the fruit it is!). Above is our spread for the picnic including: peppers, rum almond croissant, cheese, tomatoes, jalapeño cheddar bread, cucumbers and lime, spicy almonds and roasted potatoes. DELICIOUS!

We brought our beautiful dog Harlowe, and she had the best time running alongside our little blanket, playing with the other dogs and enjoying her time outdoors, since she's typically coupled up in our one-bedroom apartment all day.

She also loves her mama, and wouldn't leave me alone the entire afternoon haha. When I went to the bathroom, she cried and cried and cried and then Safi let her off the leash to run to me and show me love!

Oh, I also forgot to mention that included in our picnic, was a bottle of Rose, for me. :)

For a while there, I had to take off my hat because the wind picked up so much. I actually got a farmer's tan from having no jacket on and the sun shining through the clouds!

This neighborhood is so beautiful, we feel so blessed to be able to walk here or easily drive here at a moment's notice.

This was right before we left for the afternoon, when the cloud cover came through completely and the sun slightly disappeared.

This was such a fun day for me. As I've mentioned before, Safi and I have been together for a long time - this year will be 8 years. EIGHT years. I love him now more than I've ever loved him in my entire life. Nowadays, it's hard to find a good, true man. Spending quality time will always be the most important thing in life. One day you're here and the next you're not, so never take advantage of the small, quiet moments together - and constantly remember why you fell in love in the first place.

Hope everyone has a great week!
