My Winter Wonderland Baby Shower
My baby shower was so wonderful and so much fun. This was one of the first parties (engagement, bridal, etc.) that I really had no anxiety about it coming together - I was just so excited to celebrate my little girl. Maybe I felt this way because I didn’t feel the pressure that the party was for “me” - since I felt like it was more for my baby girl.
I am so glad to have been able to be pregnant during the fall and winter - I don’t do well in heat as is when I’m not pregnant, and I cannot imagine being this many months pregnant in the warm summer months! Since we were throwing our shower at the end of January, I wanted to throw a fun themed party, so we chose Winter Wonderland as our theme.
We had fake snowflakes around the house, fake snow on tables, did a hot chili bar and cornbread (such a warm, cozy meal for a cold winter day!), and it was perfect. I didn’t get as many photos as I would have liked, but the ones I did get are so cute!
A lot of my decorations were courtesy of a family friend I’ve known my entire life who runs her own shop called Cake Face Toppers, and her tagline is “Where Cupcakes Don’t Go Topless!" For that alone, how can you not love this branding?! She created my cupcake toppers for the event that were based on photos I’d taken during my pregnancy so far and one from my styled maternity shoot. She also created my goody bag stuffers that were “Thank you for making Kylie’s shower the BALM” and included a Photoshopped version of me with an Eos Lip Balm as my pregnant belly. I got SO many compliments on these - they were the perfect mix!
We didn’t do any real “games” at my shower - just drank and had everyone decorate onesies. I think if I could go back, I would do at least one or two small games. We did a diaper raffle though so people still won prizes, and I am STOCKED with diapers for this little girl. I was so happy with all the diapers we got but now we’re having a tough time storing them!
My sister and my mom were such amazing planners for my baby shower and it turned out so beautifully. I really wouldn’t change a thing. My small house was packed to the brim with people I love and that were there to support my growing little family, and I wouldn’t change it for the world. Afterwards I was so emotional and exhausted, and so thankful for all of the people that already love my girl so much and she’s not even here yet. It was magical.
Any mamas out there planning a shower or debating what to wear to theirs? I’d love to help! Take a look at some of the photos below!
