I'm sorry, but how good does this look?! I'm so proud of this :)
The other night, my girlfriend Jojo, who I've known since my sister and I were young girls threw a dinner party for my sister and her boyfriend and myself, and I gladly offered to cook for us all!
I absolutely love to cook, and she's got a beautiful kitchen with granite counter tops and new appliances, and I have a small, dingy kitchen which does not make for amazing blog posts. I've been shying away from posting some of my favorite recipes and photos of dinner, because frankly, our kitchen is a bit small and not particularly photogenic.
However, this dinner partied allowed for me to take some cute photos that I knew would be great for my blog. I felt so proud cooking dinner for everyone and serving something I could feel proud of that I made up completely by scratch and on my own.
Now, for more details about the menu:
Burrata, drizzled with olive oil and sea salt, paired with a baguette that I toasted in the oven with salt, pepper and olive oil.
Red onion and red pepper, sauteed with olive oil, sea salt, balsamic vinegar and sugar, paired awith toasted baguette and topped with jalapeno chevre goat cheese
Rigatoni with a vodka cream sauce, with sauteed mushroom and zucchini, fresh basil and jalapeno chevre goat cheese.
NOT PICTURED, DESSERT: strawberries paired and dipped in a chocolate hazelnut spread. I nearly died it was so delicious.
We also bought wines to go with each course, and prior to dinner took to the roof to celebrate our dinner party with some rose champagne.
I can't wait to start sharing more food and recipe posts with you. I guarantee I can give you some fun tips that are easy and simple enough for the most novice of chefs!
Stay tuned all!
