Seven year anniversary: Glen Ellen

This year for our anniversary, my boyfriend and I went to Glen Ellen to stay in a B&B, do some wine tasting and eat some amazing food.

Last Christmas my boyfriend and I gifted my parents with a weekend getaway at the refurbished Glen Ellen Olea Hotel, and they loved it. From the images alone I fell in love with the place too. So we decided to treat ourselves to a nice stay in Glen Ellen for our seven year anniversary, especially since we'd had our eyes on the place for over a year!

Before we hit the road for a day filled with more eating and lots of drinking (on my part), I treated us to a delicious breakfast sandwich.

I'm sorry, how many martinis do I have to choose from? Can I live here?

dinner at glen ellen star

This was an absolutely amazing meal. Now one secret I'll let you in on, is that Safi did not eat ANY fish the first 5 years of our relationship. I kid you not. You like calamari as an appetizer to split? Me too, but guess what, I couldn't share this appetizer with my date, because he will not eat fish! Think splitting amazing, freshly shucked oysters sounds good? Move on! No one to split them with! However, on our 5 year anniversary trip in Hawaii, this guy got into fish. Mahi Mahi to be exact, and now he has opened up to salmon and other sorts of light and flaky fish as well.

At the Glen Ellen Star for dinner, this guy ordered cooked WHOLE FISH. I was amazed. And it was damn good.
